The Water for Wildlife® Foundation has been funding the installation of water projects since 1975. Our mission is to provide adequate water sources in areas of the arid West lacking this vital resource. We have helped fund over 450 projects across the West. Some of the most common project types include:
- Placement of solar powered pumps on existing wells
- Construction of guzzlers to trap and store available water from rain and snow melt
- Natural spring or artesian well improvements through the construction of underground storage facilities
- Restoration of wetland and slough habitats
- Construction of stock tank overflow ponds and reservoirs
- Vegetation improvement around pre-existing water sources through fencing
- River and stream enhancements
